The situation in the world has changed today. But there was a time when girls were confined to domestic use with no education and employment. Today women study in schools and colleges take up jobs where they want have a rights to marry any one from any caste or community. Widows are free to remary. In modern days women have right to vote, contest elections and can be verbal about their rights. These rights are now enjoyed by women of both rich and poor families.

No one can imagine that this situation did not exist, two centuries ago. Women suffered from several types of discrimination for example sati, dowry, polygamy, child marriage and female infanticide were so in trend. Widows were not allow to remarry. Further women did not have right as right to education, employment and property. Discrimination against women was not the only type of evil in Indian society. A major hurdles in the Indian society was caste based discrimination propagated by the upper castes. The upper class is brahmins and followed by kshatriyas than vaishyas and shudras.

The lowest caste was of labourers, who did cleaning jobs throughout the town and village. So the upper caste treated lower caste as untouchables. There was a graduall improve during the nineteenth and twentieth century. Debates started on some relevant topics such as on social reformation. Books, newspapers, leaflets, pamphlets and magazine were printed. And at that time the printing price been cheaper as compared to modern era. So that middle class family members also express their views and ideas by this common way. All the types of topic was being discussed in their debates related to social, political, economical and religious status of women in that era. These debates were initiates by the social reformers of that time.

Many companies and work places does not gave job to the women just only because of they have their responsibilities at their respective privilege. During maternity they demands leave and after that they have to look after their younger ones too. But why the person does not understand the simple things. Women are the most strongest in this whole universe. According to me when the internal power and will power of a person is strong then the person is said to be strong.

Many reformers or more correctly many social reformers abolish old curse from the forehead of widows as they initiates widow remarriage and abolish child marriage. And also abolish several old customs like sati. Sati was that old tradition when people burnt the widow wives along with their husbands. They provide some free education for girls and provide some rights for girls.
